COL FLETCHER FORD – HAIL DAMAGE CLAIM

THE SCENARIO

On the 22nd October 2016 a severe storm hit the country town of Parkes in Central West NSW. The storm was driven by 70+ knot winds and was accompanied by rain and hail. During a brief period of less than 10 mins the severe winds and hail damaged buildings and 65 cars at the dealership. The storm hit around 7pm on the Friday night and was reported to the insurance company by midday Saturday.

THE RESPONSE

Our brokers MDS Insurances were available on the Saturday to handle the claim and to get things running.

On the Monday morning, assessors had been booked to inspect the cars, and by the Wednesday when the repairers had finished the quotes the assessors had arrived to begin authorising repairs. Repairs were commenced immediately on the Monday morning for urgent vehicles after authority was arranged by Gary at MDS Insurances.

THE OUTCOME

By 8th November all the vehicles had been repairs and settlement was arranged 2 days later. All funds had been deposited into my bank account by 17th November. Gary and the claims people at MDS Insurances were quick efficient and understanding of the needs to get moving quickly and to remain on track.
